Group Pilates Mat Classes at Albuquerque's Alignment for Life
Intermediate and Advanced Group Mat lessons taught at our Foothills studio involve the Classical mat exercises as developed by Joseph Pilates. Group Mat classes have between 4-8 participants.
Intermediate mat class involves more preparatory and transitional moves to work up to the demands of each exercise. The emphasis is on the Gentry technique of using a series of moves to enhance the learning of technique and intent of each exercise. The intermediate mat class may use props, such as the theraband, or magic circle, and will vary slightly from the sequential order of the Classical Mat exercises.
Advanced mat class is taught in the traditional format and exercise sequence, with quick transitions. Students must know the exercises, including the name, technique, sequence and form.
Advanced mat is by teacher invitation only and students must have a strong, healthy body. Students must take a minimum of four privates to enter into a mat class |
